For those who missed his stop in Detroit at the end of January, hipster hero/dance machine Dan Deacon is offering all of his old albums for free! Such a refreshing announcement from a musician. For those who aren't familiar, you can watch Dan sing the oh so appropriate 'Ohio' above, or my personal favorite 'BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG' below.

When I see that one of my favorite bands announces a US tour, I'm really not expecting to see any Toledo dates. But I have always liked the fact that I can usually find a concert within a three hour drive or so, giving me a perfect excuse for those weekend roadtrips.
I know you have friends in Columbus, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, or Detroit, so I've listed some shows coming up that might not be here in town, but could be worth checking out if you have a friend with a futon in the area.

Megan informs me that the DIA will be open 32 hours straight as part of it's grand re-opening celebration. I suggest skipping the after Thanksgiving tradition of shopping and heading up to Detroit instead. The DIA website states:
'We'll be open 32 hours straight from 10 a.m. on November 23 to 6 p.m. on November 24. Art After Hours kicks in from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. with DJ’s, coney dogs and sliders!'
Coney dogs and sliders! Who could resist. And by the time you leave at four, the casinos will be calling your name.
