Lucas Country Refuses to Accept BS Excuses for Not Buying Art

Look at this lady. Look at how happy she looks. She knows something, something we should all know about... 'Art Assist'.

Are you poor? Do you like art? Always wanting that painting but needing some brake pads? Lucas county is offering low interest loans (1%!) to people who want to buy local, original art. The amount can be anywhere from $500 to $2,500 and you have one year to pay it back. This is a great opportunity that I hope many, many people take advantage of.

Think about it, all the glamour of student loans without the hassle of actually going to school, and you could walk away with some Skot Horn pottery, a nice Mark Wagar sculpture, beautiful Inga Reynolds prints, or maybe even some Richard Malogorski photos. The possibilities are endless.

Toboggan Digs

Toboggan is all about the local art, but it's always nice to let you know what else is out there for the art enthusiast.

Right now I'm loving Neasden Control Centre out of the UK. It's a artist collective that incorporates a lot of collage and scribbles (awesome)- graphic artists that still retain a nice, organic feel. (myspace)

Rosson Crow is a wonderful, young painter. I don't get excited about too many new painters- but she incorporates architectural spaces, with wild, loose, brushstrokes- that come out amazingly realistic. You can draw your own juxtapositions from that. (myspace)
