Happy Birthday José Clemente Orozco!

Today Toboggan wishes José Clemente Orozco a very happy birthday. He died back in 1949, but we can still celebrate. Orozco was a contemporary of Diego Rivera (you should be eating sliders in front of his mural tonight), although dealt with a little darker imagery- think more 'day of the dead', less 'industrial revolution'. I could go on and on, but that's what the Wikipedia entry is for.

On the flip side we have Andre Malraux who died on this date in1976, and who was known to have stated, "All art is a revolt against man's fate." Wrap your head around that for awhile.
