Okay, I probably shouldn't have used a picture of Southwyck for that headline, but I just couldn't resist.
Holiday art sales are a great source of inexpensive holiday gifts, seriously, hear me out. One of a kind, original art, for rock bottom prices. I have personally spent $25 dollars for three, nice, signed pieces of glass, from local artists. There are a couple coming up and I suggest you make the rounds if you want that perfect gift for Aunt Eleanor.
The Lucas County Rec Center will be hosting one Nov. 10th & 11th, unfortunately their website looks as if to have only been updated four times in the last five years, so I couldn't find too much information on it. I do know that Julie Shine Webster will be there though, so it's got that going for it. Webster's a local artist with some really outrageous pottery, so it's worth the trip.
There will also be a student/faculty sale on the 23rd & 24th at the museum. They have this every year and there's always a ton of glass and a ton of ceramics. But get there early because it goes fast. (that's where I spent the $25)
And if that wasn't enough I know Shawn Messenger and Jack Schmidt have a holiday sale every year, but I haven't heard anything definite yet. Speaking of Jack Schmidt, check out this video from Above the Shop Studios- I love the rocks on top of the little bronze tables!
Don't forget about the book sale this weekend too.
