Art Tatum Birthday Bash at the Library- His Cousin Sanford Celebrates by Buying Cool T-Shirt

Art Tatum is one of, if not the greatest artist to come out of Toledo, and his birthday just past. Since I know none of you celebrated on the 13th (I'm trusting Wiki here) the Kent Branch Library will be having an Art Tatum birthday party you can catch on the 27th. The party should go from 12-2:30 with games for children and guest speakers. I heard their may even be some piano playing (although they probably need at least three people if they plan on duplicating Tatum's style)

Tatum was so great Zenph Studios, recently tried to recreate one of his live concerts with computer wizardry and a beastly piano.

In related news, we have the story of Sanford Tatum, who claims to be Art Tatum's cousin. Now, I'm not saying I don't believe him, but I'm not even sure if Sanford Tatum was his real name- because I only read it on a name tag, that I'm not completely sure was actually his. He did have a whole hell o' a lot of keys though- which he explained belonged to a whole hell o' a lot of locks.

Sanford helped us out here in Toledo by purchasing an OSU shirt designed and crafted by local Fortune 500 company, Jup Mode. After trying it on though, he quickly traded it to an attractive passer-by for her telephone number (full story here). Even though I think he thought Art Tatum was a football player, he was still a good guy, and gave us our first sale of the day on Saturday.
